How to Block GPS Tracking on iPhone?

Romo Hector 2022/08/30

There are many reasons why someone might want to hide their location from others. Many people use their smartphones at work and don't want their bosses or clients to track them while they're at home. Others might be concerned about security or stalkers, and of course there are nasty characters who could use this technology against us. This is why we must control our devices and know how to best protect ourselves from unwanted surveillance.

How to Block GPS Tracking on iPhone

Set up location services on iPhone

Location Services are enabled by default on iPhones, and they serve a variety of purposes, including:

Develop yourself by locating yourself in real life by taking measurements with GPS and Wi-Fi triangulation.

Provide map data to apps like Maps, Weather, Safari, and more.

When you open an app like Google Maps or Yelp, it tells you where ATMs and gas stations are nearby.

 Disable Location Services on iPhone

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the System Control Research Center, then we tap the location icon.

Scroll up to find and tap Location Services, these enterprise services are usually at the top of this list (on some older devices, they may be in different locations in China).

Tap System Services or Privacy > Location Services > When Using an App, turn off "When Using an App" to turn off Location Services for all apps except those explicitly selected in Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Do not use the app (for example, this will allow directions from Google Maps).

 Restart iPhone to disable GPS

There is another way to do this without shutting down the iPhone.

It's a bit complicated, but it still works if you're in a hurry and don't want to take the phone out of the car to restart. This is because when you turn off your iPhone, it doesn't turn off GPS tracking, it just stops recording the phone's location. All this method needs to do is remove the battery from the device, wait about 10 seconds (all running processes stop), reload the battery, and turn the device back on. You should find that GPS tracking is disabled without any issues!

 Disable GPS via Airplane Mode

Turn on flight management mode and turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, location technology services and cellular data.

If the app is still tracking you, go to the Settings menu and click General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy. This will reset your location history and clear all cookies and other web browsing information stored by Safari.

 Factory reset iPhone

Use a computer to restore your iPhone to factory settings.

On your computer analyzer, you can open iTunes and connect your device to it using a USB cable.

Select a device in iTunes, then click the Summary tab at the top of the window (if it's not already selected).

On Mac, Option-click Restore iPhone or Restore iPad; on Windows, Shift-click Restore iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch from Backup. In iOS 12 or later, you can restore your iPhone directly from an iCloud backup without first connecting to iTunes: go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings (or just delete all content and settings) and enter the password The process completed successfully

Security Considerations for Interfering with Application System Programs

You may have heard of the app we can use to block GPS tracking. There are some more popular ones, but you also have to have a jailbroken iPhone to use them. That means you have to pay extra at your local Apple store to manage a better teaching job, and then wait for them to be able to install it on your phone.

However, if you decide to go this route (which I have experienced), be aware that using these apps is considered illegal by law enforcement agencies around the world. They're not afraid of companies like Apple; they're not afraid to sue individual users for breaking the law. So keep in mind that if you choose this option, it may not be for everyone!
